The Washington Center

The challenge

Tribe Innovation worked with the Washington Center to derive the problem statement: How might we improve the accessibility and impact of information about the Washington Center’s Study in DC program?

Design Thinking Process:

Create

This workshop was created to address the Washington Center’s belief that they could improve upon their marketing of the Study in DC program. This session addressed potential shortcomings such as students' belief this was a program only for government majors and that they could find more productive and effective ways to highlight previous students' experience to prospective students. During both workshops, facilitators took participants through the create phase of design thinking which included brainstorming, organizing, converging, and prototyping.

The RESULTS

As a result of this workshop, 114 ideas were created and ultimately 4 distinct actionable ideas or prototypes were converged upon. One of these ideas included creating a class requirement or grade incentive by partnering with Professors for their students to attend informational sessions. As a result of these workshops, students learned about the design thinking process and developed innovative solutions.
